I must apologize for the downtime on our website. Unfortunately the host company was hacked over a week ago and all systems were damaged. It appears that the intention of the hackers was to disable the company and their actions have been effective. At present we are at the mercy of their technicians re-establishing the connections and retrieving our data and websites. The last information I was given was that they were down to the last couple of servers, which included the one I use. We don’t even have the option of getting our data from the backup source as that is inaccessible. If possible we would have done that and launched it back up online through another server. It is frustrating to say the least and could not have happened at a worse time. There are businesses who are losing considerable amounts of business through this, so please, if you come across a site that you cannot get into at present, it may be that they are in the same position as we are.

We had advertised some substantial price reductions for a ‘Long Weekend Sale’ and unfortunately this was inaccessible. It has also coincided with the launch of advertising in Scrapbook Creations Magazine.  We have decided that as soon as the site is up again, and according to the technicians they are hoping it may be later today or tomorrow, we will be having a huge ‘Thank you for hanging in there, super stocktake, end of financial year sale’. These specials will apply to the new stock that has just arrived and waiting to be uploaded. Check them out in the slideshow attached. We have some lovely new papers and embellishments looking for new homes. You will get some great bargains til the end of June. Come July, to coincide with the official launch of our online store, we will be giving every customer free goodies with their orders.

Thank you all for your patience, I sincerely appreciate it and your support has been invaluable during this very frustrating and disappointing time.

Floods

The current floods are affecting everyone is one way or another. My cousin lives in Toowoomba and was there when the flash flood went through. Horrible waiting to hear if she was ok. I have many other friends in QLD and so far all seem to have come through reasonably well. That was a huge relief. Now we are being hit by floods in Victoria and one irony of it is that this same cousin’s parents are currently being flooded, thousands of kilometres apart.

Yesterday my son’s house was impacted on. He was able to get a tractor or two in and put up a reasonable bank but as you can see from the photos below the levels around the house are dangerously high. The road view of water is what is out the front of the house and while stable at this moment, they are looking at more water coming down the creeks. The further along the system this water moves the greater the volume as it is amalgamating with all the tributaries on its way to feed into the Murray River.

It’s frustrating not being able to get in to help and also that my 11-year-old daughter is stuck down there and very scared. She is staying with her father and he has been caught up in the banking around various places including his own which is surrounded by water and inaccessible by car or 4WD. They have a boat at the ready and can move via tractor. So while she is no doubt safe, it is very difficult not being able to get her out of there.

This is only small by comparison to what Qld has experienced but each case is frightening enough. People are losing all sorts of valuable possessions or businesses. My son has lost many things in the shedding around the property, hundreds of acres of crops that they were still waiting to dry out enough to harvest and faced with a similar clean up to other areas. They are still forecast to get more water down the creek system and bracing themselves for that.

Those along the Murray are now wonder what is going to happen with the water levels here. With much of this flood water feeding the river and levels already rising upstream, the question is what will happen if it goes over. It is extremely full now.

Website Up

Woo Hoo the website is operational at a basic level. Shopping cart and some stock has been set up, photos need tweaking but if you click on them they give a clearer picture. There are still a few other details to adjust but most of it is aesthetic not functional. Postage has  not been configured as yet so please ignore that when looking. If anyone wishes to order, postage costs will be added to your order and emailed to you. At present I will be working on post pack prices of about $6/500g and $10/3kg, although smaller items will be individually priced at this stage. Please note, this arrangement is only in the interim until pricing on the site is finalized.  There is much, much more stock to go up yet but I thought I’d give you a look at what is on there now. As yet it is mostly Chipboard – lots and lots of Chipboard – and many other embellishments of all sorts. Paper and card-stock is in the process of being loaded onto the site. We have a huge range of these available and will endeavor to get them up asap.

We’ve had a lovely short break away and now it is back to work time. Over the last few days the Web Guru has been busily working on the Online Shop site and I’ll be getting back into uploading more stock, setting up a Gallery and generally lots of computer work in order to get us online ASAP.

Our few days away were spent at Healesville and I might even sneak in a moment to scrap some photos.
